CRISTOM VINEYARDS MARJORIE PINOT NOIR 2007

This garnet colored Pinot Noir displays great forward aromas of black cherries, plum and cassis with warm overtones of nutmeg, vanilla, toast and hints of licorice. The many flavors are also intriguing with a melange of ripe fruit and spices. The flavor of new oak adds richness to the palate but is perfectly balanced by the ample fruit. The texture of this Pinot Noir exemplifies this variety by being powerful while at the same time displaying a silky elegance. Although was a relatively hot vintage, this Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir is very well balanced and has no discernible heat. It should age well for up to a decade. Steve Doerner
