Elk Cove Winery:

Elk Cove Winery was founded in 1974 where their  focus has always been to produce hand crafted, Estate grown Oregon  wines that can rival the best wines in the world. Elk Cove Vineyards is one of Oregon's oldest and most respected Oregon wine producers.

Estate Vineyards

Elk Cove Estate vineyards now cover over 220 acres on four separate sites in the Northern Willamette Valley of Oregon wine country.

Steep south facing slopes, of Willakenzie and Laurelwood soil types with excellent drainage, provide the perfect environment to grow the world class wine grapes that are the basis for creating Elk Cove wines.

Proper site selection and meticulous vine Elk Cove Winery management along with harvesting at very low yields creates the concentration and depth of flavor that are hallmarks of Elk Cove wines.

Elk Cove Winery is a Family Owned and Operated

Elk Cove Vineyards proudly remains a family owned and operated Oregon winery.
Elk Cove Winemaker Adam Godlee Campbell joined forces with his parents at Elk Cove Vineyards in 1995 to produce outstanding Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Growing up among the vines on the Elk Cove Estate has instilled a tremendous respect for the soil in which the Oregon wine grapes were grown, therefore his role as Elk Cove winemaker is one of stewardship over intervention.

At Elk Cove Vineyards Adam employs gravity flow and gentle handling to protect the inherent qualities of the Elk Cove Vineyard Estate grown fruit. Elk Cove hopes that you enjoy these fine Oregon wines as much as we all enjoyed the creative process in making them.

The Pinot Trilogy: Noir, Gris, Blanc!
Elk Cove Vineyard’s focus is on Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. Creating powerful yet elegant Oregon wines that focus on freshness of fruit, depth and viscosity

Elk Cove Vineyards has produced Single Vineyard Pinot Noirs since 1979. These Elk Cove Winery flagship wines are available in limited quantities. Windhill, La Bohème, Roosevelt, Mount Richmond and Five Mountain Vineyard Pinot Noirs have all been selected for specific site characteristics – soils, aspect, microclimate. Yields are kept to below two tons per acre for these special reserve bottlings

Profile: Elk Cove Winery Pinot Noir
• Pinot Noirs are racked by gravity from the fermenters to French oak barrels in the cellar

• Nitrogen gas is used during racking to gently push the wines from barrels back into tanks

Adam hand selects only the finest quality French oak barrels for his entire Elk Cove Winery Pinot Noir bottlings – Burgundian coopered, 3-year air-dried, medium toast, tight grained. The delicate flavors and finesse of the Pinot Noir grape depend on this careful handwork

Cool Climate Whites

All of Elk Cove’s white wine grapes are gently whole cluster pressed, then fermented extremely cool in small stainless steel tanks. To retain freshness and varietal correctness Elk Cove Winery does not put them through malolactic fermentation.
