HAWK CREST MERLOT 2006

At Stags Leap Wine Cellars, weve always grown and vinified our Merlots side-by-side with our Cabernets, creating a robust, distinctive expression of the varietal. Cabernet lovers, often reluctant to try what they perceive as too fleshy a varietal, are often impressed with the structure and depth of our Merlots. Likewise, Merlot aficionados enjoy our balance of distinctiveness and complexity. The vintage produced strong red wines statewide, and despite low yields and reduced production, were still able to offer the vintage of Hawk Crest Merlot at an affordable price.
