Description

Sixto Roza Hills Chardonnay
A pale golden color, this offers intoxicating notes of candy corn, lemon curd, spice and stone fruit along with light toast accents (30% new French oak). It's rich, textured and full of intense, layered fruit and mineral flavors that carry through the long finish.
The Chardonnay Roza Hills Vineyard comes from limestone soils that lie at an elevation of 1,300 feet outside the town of Zillah. Aged in 30% new French oak, it gives up impressive lemon and stone fruits, white flowers, warm spice and ample chalky minerality in its medium-bodied, layered, fabulously pure and rich profile. As with the other whites from this estate, its more than a little impressive. This is a new project between the team at Charles Smith (Charles Smith, Brennon Leighton and Andrew Latta) thats focusing on old vine Chardonnay. All of the vineyards here were formerly part of Chateau St. Michelles white (and sparkling) program, but have since been given up due to too low of yields from the older vines. Without a doubt, these are the finest Chardonnays Ive tasted from Washington, and I cant wait to try them from bottle next year

Bottle Size: .750
