Converting the land from wheat to grapes, Wylie planted the Va Piano estate vineyard by hand. He has always followed a hands-on, holistic approach in the vineyard and in winemaking. Working out of his garage in the early days, between stints studying at UC Davis, Wylie honed his skills and expanded Va Piano to the full-fledged boutique family vineyard and winery it is today, producing a variety of red and white wines from Italian and French varietals with Walla Walla heart. Va Piano works in strict accordance with the guidelines of 'Vinea', the winegrowers sustainable trust. producing mostly estate-grown wines with some sourced from local growers. The "Bruno's Blend" wines are named for Wylie's mentor Father Bruno Segatta.
